The latest batch of 8 Young Leaders in Southwark District have completed their training and demonstrated their skills and competence by organising and running a Games Day for 18 cubs and scouts from the district. They started their course last September covering all 11 modules in 8 evening sessions, plus and all day First Response Course. It has become a tradition…

On Sunday 20 Leaders from across the County gathered at The South London Scout Centre to undertake their Training.

We may have some tickets for the Gala Awards Night for the Jack Petchey Foundation.

This years event well be at the Southbank centre in London. This will be the chance to see our Award Winners get their medallions presented. We have several VIPs coming along, It should be a great night.

We have a small number of places still available for the Beaver Air Activities Badge on Saturday 10 March (p.m.); and for the Cub Air Activities Badge on Saturday 31 March. Both courses will be held at GLS’s Scout Aviation Centre (SAC), Biggin Hill – if interested please contact Ian Piper at Ianp@pbmail.co.uk

26 members of 16th Bermondsey have just returned from 5 days in the snowy Surrey hills, staying in Holmwood and Capel scout hut.

They all took a train to Dorking station and set off in minus 7 degrees to hike in patrols through snow covered fields and woods to Leith hill and then on to the scout hut, about 8 miles. As well as night hikes, indoor and out door…
